5 WooCommerce Changes That Actually Improve Conversions

Most WooCommerce store owners think they need a complete redesign to improve sales. In my experience, the truth is almost always simpler — and cheaper.
After working on dozens of WooCommerce stores, I've noticed the same conversion leaks appearing again and again. Here are the five fixes that deliver the fastest results.
1. Fix the Product Page Above the Fold
Most visitors decide within three seconds whether they're staying or leaving. Your product image, title, price, and Add to Cart button all need to be visible without scrolling — on mobile especially.
2. Simplify the Checkout
Remove unnecessary fields. Most stores don't need a "Company Name" or "Address Line 2" field. Every extra field is another reason to abandon. Use WooCommerce's built-in field editor or a plugin like Fluid Checkout to streamline the process.
3. Add Trust Signals Near the Buy Button
A small row of icons — secure checkout, free returns, cash on delivery — placed just below the Add to Cart button can measurably increase conversions. People need permission to buy.
4. Speed Up the Cart and Checkout Pages
These two pages are where purchases happen, yet they're often the slowest on the site due to all the dynamic content. Use fragment caching if your host supports it, and exclude them from any aggressive JS deferral.
5. Fix Mobile Product Images
WooCommerce's default product gallery is often broken or awkward on mobile. Users want to swipe through images, pinch to zoom, and see a full-screen view. A plugin like Variation Swatches or a theme with a proper mobile gallery makes a noticeable difference.
None of these changes require a redesign. They require attention to detail and a willingness to look at your store from a customer's perspective.
